A very
touching video went viral online where a cancer-stricken father walks his
beautiful 11-year-old daughter down the aisle because he’ll be no longer
present when the real thing happens. The video entitled Walk Me Down The Aisle
Daddy uploaded by Lindsey natzic in Youtube is a total tear jerker among the
netizens.
Josie Zetz is
the 11-year-old girl who was featured in the video together with her father Jim
aged 62 who’s diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The Walk Me Down The Aisle
Daddy moments became possible thanks to the California photographer Lindsey
Villatoro and founder of Love Song Photography. Josie’s mother Grace hired
Villatoro for her service because, Villatoro is known to do photography
sessions for clients that have terminal and serious illnesses showcasing their
journeys. "I try to really showcase the person for who they are and not
the illness," Villatoro said during her phone interview with the
Huffington Post on Tuesday. After doing a shoot in the Zetz’s home, Villatoro
came to an idea to post about the Zetz family on her website in order to get
donations for Josie to make her last birthday with her father to be memorable.
Well, there’s nothing more memorable than the idea of a wedding for Jim’s
daughter Josie and walking her precious daughter down the aisle. "I met
Josie [the day of the wedding]. She was a little bit overwhelmed when her mom
picked her up from school and told her. She just needed a moment. Later, she
said, 'This is the best day of my life.' She was very glad and excited to have
these moments,” Villatoro said.
Josie’s
special day with her father became more special due to the perfect wedding
set-up complete with flowers, desserts, a promise ring and a white dress from
L.A. fashion week which made the wedding look very real. The very touching
family story of the Zetz gained positive feedbacks and attention which in turn
was covered by local network KTLA and the Daily mail. "They want to get
his story out, to let people know Jim and to feel a part of his family. There
is going to come a day very soon when he's not here. So for everyone to see
those moments inside their family and connect with them is a really big thing
for them. They feel very blessed ... The goal when I do these things is to
preserve that person. Most people focus on the death and not the beauty of that
person, who they were and the memories that they leave,” Villatoro told the
Hiffington Post. With the inspiring captured moments of Jim walking his
daughter down the aisle, we hope that his journey doesn’t only inspire us but
also enlighten us to cherish every seconds of our lives with the ones we love
because, we’ll never know when our deadlines will be.
